Simeon

Simeon Mainye is a seasoned consultant and psychological counsellor with over 6 years experience working with people who have diverse mental health and wellness needs such as depression, anxiety, panic attacks, suicide ideation, general stress, marital & relationship issues, drug and substance abuse, loss and grief among others. He is also a life coach, trainer, mental health advocate and motivational speaker.

He uses person centered approach to deliver support that gradually empowers individuals, families, groups and organizations to make informed life changing decisions. Additionally, he applies cognitive behavioral therapy and techniques to address mental health conditions and improve patient outcomes during crisis. Equally, Simeon possess a detailed understanding of counselling ethics and applies the standards in all interactions with clients.

Simeon has a degree in Counselling Psychology from Moi University. He is a registered member of the Kenya Counsellors and Psychologists Association. He has worked as a Counselling Psychologist at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital-Eldoret, Oasis Specialist Hospital-Kisii, Refugee Consortium of Kenya-Nairobi & Daadab and UNHCR Kenya as a counsellor, trainer and consultant.

By dint of his extensive training and hands-on experience, Simeon has acquired sound knowledge in theoretical counselling approaches and their practical application in real life situations. He has a special interest in cognitive behavioural therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Integrative and client centered Counselling. Areas of expertise include: depression, anxiety, suicide ideation, complex trauma, stress management and bereavement.

Specifically, Simeon is skilled in behavioral monitoring, psychological testing, research methods, rehabilitation techniques, and psychometrics. He has a proven track record of effective results and positive outcomes with clients. Crucially, Simeon is compassionate, understanding, and friendly demeanor when working with challenging clients in any situation.
